Last Week of School.....

There was so much fun packed into the last days of 1st, 3rd and 5th grade. The last time all 3 kids will be at the same school. :(

I had lunch with all 3 kids...and they get to have a friend sit with them.
Joshua and Landon

Sophia and Rylie

Jake and Michael

Fifth grade awards was on Wednesday. Jake got 4 awards!!! Outstanding Attendance, A/B Honor Roll Strings and the 5th Grade Certificate.

His teacher this year, Mrs. Hildebrand has been amazing!

Here it is...the last day of school. See the Garner cup on the table. We're about to have a 6th grader in the house!

5th Grade Talent Show is a B-I-G deal. Jake was in a skit with 4 other boys doing a lip sync contest. Jake was dressed as Taylor Swift.

After the show....they did a great job!!!

It's an annual tradition at Northwood for the last 15 min of the last day to line the hallways and have the 5th graders walk through. Everyone claps and cheers...

Here they come!!!

 Here's Jake...with a few tears!

And outside afterwards for popsicles. Time to say goodbye to Northwood!

Afterschool we headed to the park to meet with friends for some sno-cone fun!

We now have a 2nd, 4th and 6th grader!!! Two schools next year. Can't wait to see what the next school year holds in store. This has been such a great year for all 3 kids. It's hard to leave good teachers behind!!!

Annual Fifth Grade Swim Party....

The annual 5th grade pool party is a rite of passage. The kids have such a great time!!! They get to spend about 3 hrs at the Alamo Heights Pool with lots of swimming time and good food!

And they do a group panoramic picture. We'll get a "real" copy soon but this was the one I took. Jake is on the very very right side....standing next to the tallest kid in 5th grade!!!

Jake and his friend Michael having a blast!

First Grade Field Trip....

I went with Joshua on his field trip to the new San Antonio Aquarium. It's not the nicest facility...but they do have a lot of hands on stuff for the kids.

They got to touch and feed the sting rays.

Checking out the Koi pond.

Feeding krill to another tank of fish.

Mrs. Moeller's first grade class. Such a cute group of kids!

They have some exotic birds that the kids were able to pet.

And a big 70 yr old tortoise!!

The kids are able to do and touch a lot of animals there...and we all got free passes which means we will be visiting again!

Fifth Grade....

It's so close to the end of the year!! SO hard to believe we are about to have a 6th grader!! Jake had his final strings concert last week. They played for almost an hour. He has enjoyed strings and will be in the orchestra next year...but he wants to switch to the cello.

This was a picture on the display boards outside the auditorium on the night of the concert.

Hard to see..but he is up there playing away!

And later in the week 5th grade went on a field trip to the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. Jake loved it!!!

Soocer Fun....

It's the end of another great season for the Thundering Herd. I'm pretty sure they were undefeated!
This is the last year it will be co-ed. The boys will move up next year and play on bigger fields. They are so much fun to watch!

End of season wrap party at Longhorn Café. :)

Carnival 2015...

It was "Back to the Carnival" this year for Northwood.

The boys all ready to have fun! Sophia ran ahead and met up with friends....and we didn't see her much!!!

5th graders get to be in the dunking booth. We were all ready when it was Jake's turn!!

Joshua getting ready to throw....

He missed...but pushed the target anyhow. :)

Joshua getting some VERY blue hairspray!!!

Back home after a very fun day!! Sophia entered a cake this year into the Cake Contest, but she didn't win. However, we did manage to win it during the cake walk so this yummy cake was able to come home with us!

5th Grade Fun....

Okay....not a good picture. But it was crowded and I was trying to snap a pic quickly!!! Jake has been in Strings this year...a 5th grade program where they go to the middle school twice a week to work with the middle school orchestra teacher. This was the big Evening with Strings concert....over 1,000 kids from 3 different highschools and the middle and elementary schools that feed into them.

It's a 5th grade traditional to decorate cakes for the Carnival cake contest. Jake's class did 53 cakes!!!

And got to eat the leftover icing. :)
