Virginia Part 1....

Our long awaited trip to Virginia finally arrived!! Everyone was so excited to go see Mary and Brad!! The kids were super excited about flying. We don't fly much around here!!! It was Joshua's first time!

Our first full day in Virginia was packed with fun!! A ride on the Metro...we decided it would be easier (and a lot more fun) to ride into the city than to drive. We had the Duck Tour booked....a tour around the city by land and water on a WW II DUKW amphibious vehicle!

dc duck tours on land and water

It was a great tour. Just the right amount of time and it went by all the must see places.

The highlight (of course) was driving straight into the water!

Day 2 took us to Mount Vernon to see George Washington's home.

The view out the back of the house was beautiful!!!

Inside the museum they had a children's area with dress up clothes...

George and Martha :)

We stopped at the at the Gristmill and Distillery on the way out. They were all sold out of the rye whiskey. :( An interesting tour though!!!

After a little rest at home, we decided to go to Great Falls Park. The warning sign is a bit scary!!!

It is an incredible sight though. We watched some guys in kayaks go down the side of the falls a few times.

Lucy was a bit tired and worn out after the l-o-n-g day!!!

A Week at Camp....

While the boys were home enjoying VBS, lots of pool time and some swing time....

Sophia was having a blast at camp!! At least once a day we'd say "I wonder what Sophia is doing right now!?" And the answer...having tons of fun!!!!

It was so fun to pick her up this morning. All smiles as the campers ran onto the field to meet their parents!

TBarM runs an amazing camp. They do an incredible job of organization, fun and sharing the word of God. I'm so happy that Sophia was able to do overnight this year and that she had so much fun. She can't wait to go back next summer. And I hope Jake will go too!!

Camp Bound....

Today is the day Sophia has been waiting for! TBarM drop off day. The start of overnight camp.
6 days of camp fun!!! She is going with 3 friends. We met for lunch and exchanged cabin gifts.

Then it was off to TBarM. They have a good system for dropping off luggage, checking in and then waiting to meet the counselors. They deliver stuff to the cabins which is so much easier than dragging it around!!

Rylie, Sophia and Finola with Olympic swimmer Josh Davis. He is there helping with a swim camp this week.

Sophia on her bunk...super excited. The 4 girls are in the same cabin...Wild Horse. Sophia got a top bunk. We helped her get the bed made and shower stuff in the right place...and then said our goodbyes.

Her home for the week. Can't wait to hear ALL about it.

Summer Fun....

We are slowly falling into the routine of summer!!

Fun at the pool...

Pool parties with friends and picnics on the grass...

Meeting up with MY friends at Fiesta Texas for a day of fun! So much fun to spend the day with Shalon and Sherrill and all our kids. We had a great time!

Summer means that you can declare a day "Wild and Crazy Day" and drink Coke for lunch. :)

Family fun at the Missions game. A perfect night for baseball. We were in the shade and there was a breeze. Missions were tied until the bottom of the 9th when they made the winning run!

Enjoying the fireworks show afterwards!
