Cooking Camp!

Sophia was lucky enough to grab a spot in the Cooking Camp...it filled up SO quickly. She was the oldest out of the group, but had a great time and made some incredible food. Each day was a different theme...French pastries, Italian pasta, Greek gyros and Chinese eggrolls. YUM!!!

Last Day of School!

The last day of 5th grade is a fun one!! The annual talent show is always fun to watch. Sophia did a weight lifting skit with a few of her friends. I didn't get any good pics of the actual skit...this picture is when all the 5th graders were on stage.

Sophia and Darby were the main "characters" in the skit.

The annual 5th grade walkout! This years class was pretty quiet. It was a quick walkout...Gramma even missed Sophia walking by!!!

Outside for popsicles. Sophia became good friends with Kayla this year.

Sophia and Mrs. Hildebrand. We will miss her!! But hopefully be back in her room with Joshua!!

Joshua and his amazing teacher, Mrs. Taylor. She is an incredible teacher. Joshua was blessed to be in her class.

5th Grade Fun....

The last week of 5th grade brought some fun adventures!!

Sophia's class was involved with a program through Southwest Airlines where they "partnered  with a pilot" the whole year. He came in about once a month and taught lessons, shared info about his job, etc. The final event was a tour of Southwest at the airport. Sophia, Joshua and I went. We got to the "behind the scenes" tour...and even got to go out on the tarmac. Pretty cool!!!

And got free sunglasses with wings!!

And then it was time for the annual 5th grade pool party. So much fun seeing this group of kids almost ready to head to middle school!!

The pool party is always a big event!!! They get to spend about 3 hours at the Alamo Heights Pool. Lots of good food and swim time....and they take the annual 5th grade panoramic picture.

And of course Mrs. Hildebrand always goes the extra mile...they did a Revolutionary War day..so Sophia picked out this costume to wear.

5th Grade Awards...Sophia got several. She had a fabulous year!!

This was the morning of the last day. The LAST time they would walk together to Northwood. :(

NJHS

Jake was chosen to be inducted into the National Junior Honor Society this year. We are so proud of all his hard work!!! So exciting to see him on the stage and hear his name. :)

Ranch Fun with Friends!

We went to the ranch over the 3 day weekend for Battle of Flowers. The Hannas and 2 of the Marafiotos came with us and we had so much fun!

Lots of 4 wheeler time.....

Creek time...which was a big hit!!! The kids could have stayed down there for hours and hours!

And playing at the house time. The kids worked long and hard to build a house for a frog they brought back from the creek.

3 days + 7 kids = a very fun weekend!!

Easter 2017

Easter 2017 started off early. I guess it's a rule that you cannot sleep in on a holiday!!
The EB brought some fun baskets with toys and candy!

Church had an egg hunt. And I managed one picture after church!

Our afternoon was a bit laid back. The Marafiotos did not have their annual party. Mom was at the ranch. So we went to Shirley's for dinner and had an egg hunt with the cousins.

Bluebonnets....

Brenda used our kids for some test bluebonnet pics a month or so ago. We had to keep a close eye on the longhorns that were VERY interested in us. She managed to get some great shots while fending off the cattle!
