The rains came...and came...and then came inside!!! After a hard night of rain, I walked into the man cave and then floor seems squishy. At first we were looking for a leak in the ceiling...and then realized it was the floor!! The water had seeped in from the back door and from the front windows.
We started pulling up some of the flooring.....
And pretty soon we realized we had to pull up ALL the flooring.
There was SO much water. We let the floor dry out for a week or two...and then put the flooring back down. Thank goodness we had a stash of extra flooring in the garage.
There was a lot that had been ruined.
Not the final product...but the good thing about the flood is that we were able to redo the room and make it SO much better than before. We got the leather couch and rug from Mary and Brad. Now it looks so good....and I renamed it "The Study." We put Mike's desk in the corner, couch on one side, 2 leather chairs on the other side, moved this coffee table from the living room and now it's a beautiful finished room!!! And we made sure to fix the drainage issues so a big flood won't happen again!
