Our Ballerina

Sophia's ballet class had thier "for-formance" yesterday (as Sophia called it). They were so cute. I didn't get the tail end of thier dance because of the very vocal little man beside me. But...I think I caught the highlights!!

Size 12 month shorts+6 year old boy=????

Jake always has a change of clothes in his backpack. It seems like a couple times a week he has to put on clean undies. I'm convinced this issue will never get better....but maybe I'm wrong. He usually puts on new shorts even though he doesn't really need to.

When I picked him up today I thought his shorts looked a little small. Turns out they were Joshua's 12 month old shorts!!!!!! Ooops...my mistake!! But, they fit!!! Short...but they fit!! What other 6 1/2 year old Kinder kid could wear 12 month shorts?? Seriously. I should have taken a picture!!!

Snaggle tooth...

Jake has had 4 loose teeth for months and months. Now he only has 3!!! I can't believe one fell out yesterday...and I can't believe it didn't hurt!! This is the 3rd tooth he has lost, but for some reason the top ones are harder to handle! He looks SO grown-up (and a little silly) with the buzz cut and missing top tooth! And soon he'll be missing both top teeth. The other one will come out soon!! My baby is growing up too fast!!!

Kindergarten Perfomance...

Each month a different grade level performs at the PTA meeting. They saved the best for last. Kindergarten did their show last week. It was a flower themed show. Jake did a really good job. Slight slip-up when he put his hands down his pants...but it was just a second...not very long. Not like he was in the front row or anything...I'm sure no one saw!!

Mother's Day...

Here are 2 pictures from yesterday...only of the kids. Not me. Jake got his hair cut...sportin' a flat top now. I'm slowly getting used to it. I think it's cute, but it's a BIG change. I think I like the regular buzz cut better. But, it's only hair. It will grow back!

The saddest part about cutting off the curls was that when he got home, Sophia cried and cried. Real crocodile tears.... "It doesn't look like Jake. I don't want him to have short hair." It was traumatic for her!!!
This is a pillowcase dress I made for Sophia. I love the fabric and I think she looks so cute in yellow!

Lollipop Pictures...

My friend Brenda took these before church last week...right beside our house. There's a great patch of wildflowers!! Admittedly the lollipops were a big bribe, but I think it was worth it. This is how I found Joshua and Sophia this morning. Notice how they each have 1 of Jake's gardening gloves on. Wonder what the thought process behind that decision was???

Baptism Gift...

Kelly found something similar on Etsy and asked me if I could make them for her cousin's twin girls who are being baptized later in May. I think they turned out super cute. The lovie is about 16" square. The bib is reversable.
