Get Your Game Face On!!!

All 3 are playing basketball right now. They are all doing great!! But I only got a picture of Joshua today. #9...a tough defender!! No one gets past him!!! I lost count of how many baskets he made. :) So much fun to watch them all on the court!

Pinewood Derby...

Today was the annual Pinewood Derby for Cub Scouts. All 3 entered cars....Jake---The Green Car. Sophia--Mustachio. Joshua--Great Outdoors. Don't think we had any winners, but it was a fun morning!

It's Getting Close....

My very own space...it's getting closer!! When we left for NYC it was a slab. And when we came home it looked like a room. Dreaming of the next week or two when I can move in!!!

New York City!!!

Mike and I took a much needed trip to NYC with Joh and Lisbeth Anne. John was turning 50 and they had a special trip planned and asked us to come. SO glad that we went. 3 nights and 3 days of grown up fun, sight seeing, good food and fun with friends!

Our plane was delayed so we got in late. Way too late. But we had to go walk around Times Square! It was so exciting to be there in person. The lights are amazing.

The next morning we went to the World Trade Center site and went to through the museum. They have done an amazing job of preserving so many items and memories. It takes a long time to see everything.

This quilt was enormous. And had a picture and name of everyone killed that day.

The last piece that was removed from the site. People had taped names and pictures to it.

The pools outside. I'm so glad we went. It was hard to walk through and listen and see all they had in the museum. But so well done.

We had some amazing food while we were there!!!

We rode the Staten Island Ferry (free!!!) to see the skyline and the Statue of Liberty.

NYC has some beautiful old churches!!!

We had tickets to see Hugh Jackman in "The River". I had no idea what to expect. The theater was really small. It only held about 800 people. 3 actors in the play. And afterwards they had a "Q&A" with the actors and the playwright!

Afterwards we walked to this incredible roof top bar on the 55th floor of a hotel!

The next morning we walked down to Rockefeller Center.

This was in the Lego store...a whole NYC scene!

And we caught Matt Lauer doing a quick segment on The Today Show. We were on TV for a few seconds!!

Grand Central Station

This was a toy wonderland!!!

All made out of legos!!!

A walk through Central Park...some of the water was frozen!

We rode the subway several times...always an interesting experience!

And our last night we celebrated John's birthday at The Monkey Bar. Such a cool place with amazing food!

We had such a good trip. It had been WAY too long since Mike and I had been away together. And to go somewhere like NYC with good friends was so much fun!!!

Christmas at the Ranch!

Mary and Brad were back for Christmas, so on Monday we all loaded up to head to the ranch for the week. Mary had the brilliant idea to ask Jessica to give us a golf cart tour of Baylor. It was c-o-l-d but fun!!! The kids loved it!!!

The bears were out and so close to the edge of the enclosure! Tour guide Jessica told us that Joy and Lady are sisters. But each one of them has a twin brother!! And the twin brothers are famous Hollywood bears who have been in movies! Think she is telling the truth???

And we got to check out the new stadium! Joshua said "one day Jake and I are going to be playing on this field!" Dream big Joshua!!!

Later that day we bundled up again for a creek stomp. There was quite a bit of water in the creek, so we couldn't go as far as we wanted. But we had a good time.

The next day Joshua, Jake, Mike and I went back to the creek to retrieve the deer that had died in the creek. Mike wanted the antlers. Ewww!!! But Joshua was ready for the adventure.

And New Years's Day meant it was time for the Cotton Bowl!!! Brad had 4 free tickets and the lucky winners were.....

They all had a great time!! 20 rows up on the 20 yard line. Incredible seats at an incredible stadium. If only Baylor had won!!!!

After 5 days at the ranch it was time to head home. What a wonderful Christmas break with lots of fun memories!!!
