"Werewolf House" photo shoot....

A friend of mine took pictures of the kids this weekend as a payback favor for some stuff I've done for her. She teaches photography at a middle school and is doing some work on the side. She'd been on the hunt for a place to take pictures and get an urban "look"...and I think we found it. I love these!!!

But...when we first drove up at this abandoned warehouse and the kids said "what is this??" Brenda said it's a "werewolf house"...so of course Jake could NOT let that go. I'm sure he'll be talking about it for a LONG time!

Of course we got the most pictures of Sophia. Jake did pretty well. Joshua came in a sad 3rd. He's just not a very good particpant these days!!!

Future ball player???

Joshua has had fun with the t-ball set lately. He stays occupied for awhile with it. Except this time...when it was more fun to chase Bosque around with the bat!!

Princess Tea Party...

The "real" party for Sophia was today. A princess tea party. Everyone dressed up. We had a make-up table (BIG hit!!), decorated crowns, had a treasure hunt, colored princess pictures, had the tea party and opened presents.
Mary made this special sign!

She got flowers from one of her friends. So cute!!The princesses.....Finola was very intent on decorating her crown!!
Rylie had fun with the crown and make-up.
The treasure hunt outside. Would have been a little prettier if we actually had some green grass!!
The boys weren't allowed inside during the party. But, they were all about cleaning up the leftovers afterwards!!!

Sophia's Birthday Part 3....

I'm telling you...the party never ends!!! This is the first year that she got to take cupcakes to school and really "celebrate" with her friends.

Joshua kept himself occupied quiet nicely. He's so ready to go to school!!

Cousin Time...

Mary and Brad were in town for a quick car switching trip. They dropped Grant off for a little bit while they ran an errand. Joshua was sleeping...so I told Sophia and Grant that they needed to be quiet. Jake was at school and missed out. But, they were SO quiet I was starting to get worried. Then, I found them quietly playing in Jake's room. Side by side...yet totally occupied in their own thing!!

I just love it when kids can play quietly on their own!! Such a wonderful thing!!!

Bathroom Renovation is Done!!!!

I have one of the handiest husbands around. He worked SO hard to get this done in time for Sophia's party today. I think it looks great!!! SO so so so much better than before!!!!
BEFORE

AFTER

The party continues...

For dinner on Sophia's birthday, we had cookie cake, ice-cream...and then gave her the big present. She LOVES the fancy bike and is eager to show it off to everyone!!

The morning started off with donuts. And she got the Happy Birthday plate...which is a big thrill. And she had to use it at all 3 meals...of course!!

Happy Birthday Sophia!!

We have a 4 year old on the house! 4 years old going on 14 years old!!!! I can't believe it's been 4 years since I said "A girl??? Are you sure???" And then the doctor showed us!! I thought for sure it would be another boy. And it's also been 4 years since I became a stay at home mom. WOW!! I've survived to tell about it...so far.

Sophia brings much joy...and let's be honest....much drama to our lives. Her little personality is so strong and so unique. She's a wonderful big sister to Joshua and manages to hold her own being a little sister to Jake.

First Birthday
Second Birthday...her fashion sense starting to show through....

Third Birthday....
I can't wait to see what this year has in store for her. Fourth birthday picture to be coming soon!

She's a Brick...HOW-SE....

You can say you knew the Wee Wille's before they were big stars. These dance moves are destined to be big...really big...one day!

Valeantine's Day at the schools...

I spent the morning at Sophia's school helping with the Sock Hop. It was a big hit. My camera was acting funny, so I didn't get the greatest pictures. Thankfully a friend took a bunch and Sophia's teacher took some really good ones. So, I can get those soon.

The kids were super cute all dressed up. They had a great time dancing around. And, in true SA style, there was a 50's pinata for the kids to do. You can get ANY type of pinata you want in this town!!

Check out the red shoes Kelly sent!!!!!

In the afternoon I helped at Jake's school. Didn't get nearly the number of pictures there. Too much work to do....my hands were busy with kids!!!! I just love how excited the kids when they open their Valentine boxes. It's so funny. Such excitement over little cards and candy!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Are your kids hopped on sugar like mine???? I think they're hanging from the ceiling about now!!

Here's my V-Day gift to Mike. Saw one like it at HEB for $29!! Thought it was pretty cute, so a friend and I worked together (she got the boxes, I got the ribbon) to make them ourselves. I think it's a pretty cute man gift!!!

Completed Sock Hop outfit....

Okay...here's the completed outfit for the Sock Hop at Sophia's school on Friday. I made 5 of these little poodle skirt outfits. 2 red skirts, 2 light pink and 1 hot pink. Each fabric for the initial and tie are different. I think they all turned out very cute!!! And...I'm glad they're done!! Now if only I can decide on how much to charge for them!!!

Happy Valentine's Day...a bit early...

I put the kids in their Valentine's shirts over the weekend in hopes of getting a good picture of all 3 for the card I need to make. As usual...I couldn't get one of all 3 looking at the camera at the same time. It seems impossible!!!!

But, I thought this one was very cute. And it really captures the 3 of their personalities....Joshua doing his own thing....Sophia posing...and Jake being silly.

Poodle skirt...

Last post for today.....Sophia's class is having a Sock Hop for their Valentine's Party next week. Being the over achiever that I am...I offered to make (for $$) the outfits for all the girls (since there are only 5 girls in the class). I just finished Sophia's skirt and I think it turned out SO cute. And super super easy!!!
To complete the outfit, I'm doing white t-shirts with the girls initial on them (Laverne and Shirley style) plus a matching neck or hair scarf in the same fabric as their initial.
And...as I sit here typing....she's having a fit about not getting a pink poodle. "I don't want white. That's not fair." Oh....hold me back. I hope I don't end up on the 5:00 news!!!!!

Boot Scootin' Good Time...

Today was the annual Barn Dance at Jake's school. I had no idea what to expect!!! He was very excited about it and wanted to make sure I was going to wear boots (which I did). They had the gym all decorated and all the Kinder classes were there. Most of the time they spent "showing off" the dances they had been working on. It was pretty darn cute!!! I was impressed that they had so many kids going in different directions and yet no one was injured!!!! I would have gotten better pictures and video if Joshua hadn't been there. He was clearly irritated that no one asked him to be in the dances...so he was making mad dashes to try to get into the middle of everything...which means I had to put down the cameras quite often!!!!
There were so very cute outfits there. When Sophia makes it to Northwood...we'll go all out on her Barn Dance outfit!!! If you look closely in the picture, you can see Josie (she's in Jake's class). LOVE the black and pink tutu type skirt with matching pink and black boots. AND...and a pink cowgirl hat with a tiara on it. Can you beat that???
Class picture at the end. This is Lucy...notice how she got dressed up for the big day. Ms. Cole brings her most Fridays. She's a service dog...one that gets taken to nursing homes and hospitals. The kids get to read to her on Friday as a reward. The kids absolutely love her!!!
The parents were lucky enough to get to participate in the last dance. Yeah!! Love that Old Man Tucker song. It's a toe-tapper!! The video is clips from several of the dances put together. It's a little long...but it cracks me up.

I Wanna be like the Big Kids!!!

The big kids had their papasan chairs out watching TV the other day. Joshua threw a fit until I got him a chair to sit in too.

Not sure whyJake is blurry....but it's still a cute picture. He wants to do EVERYTHING they do!!!!

Birthday gifts...

Warning---Kelly and Mary----present spoiler!!

In order to be a bit more thrifty, but still cute....I made counting books for the birthdays coming up. Grant will be 3 on the 8th and Tyler will be 4 on the 19th. They both love Cars...so I made them a Cars counting book. I think they turned out pretty cute. I hope they like them!!!
