She's Home!!!

We picked Sophia up yesterday from a super fun week of camp! She had a great time and made new friends!

Here are they at "Clash of Kilts" night....

So much fun pool time!

It's always so fun on Saturday morning to see the kids running onto the sports fields from different directions!!!

Here she is!!!

This year she was in Muleshoe. Finola was in her cabin too! She had three wonderful coaches. So happy that she had so much fun at camp! I

TBarM!!!

It's finally the week for TBarM. Sophia has been SO excited.

Before we left I snapped this cute (but blurry) pic of Sophia and Joshua sitting on her trunk and talking about camp. She was giving him the scoop.

Here they are!!! She is in Muleshoe this year. Finola is in her cabin too. Finola got sick the first night and had to come home...but they let her come back today!

Swimming with Maddie...

Sophia, Finola and Maddie

All 6 of the Northwood crew!

This was in the gym when they were announcing cabins! A little bit crazy!

Another blurry picture of Sophia on her bunk. This was right before we said goodbye!

So happy that she seems to be having a good time. Can't wait to get a letter from her!!

Summer Fun....

So far this summer the kids have been busy!!!

Jake had a great time at Summer Serve. They worked so hard and had lots of fun!!

Downtown at the Mirror Maze...

Working on the Community Garden

Travelling in the church van...

Last week the boys went to a great basketball camp at the AH High School. On Friday they had a skills showcase and Joshua happened to end up right in front of us. The boys had a lot of fun and practiced ball handling skills. It was amazing to watch how well run the camp was...110 boys...and when the coach called out a command...they ALL did it!!! "Shot Pocket" is my favorite!!!

Jake was way in the back row with the older boys.

While the boys were at basketball, Sophia did VBS at Alamo Heights Methodist. There were 5 girls from Northwood that went together. Sophia will miss VBS at Mt. Calvary next week (she will be at TBarM) so I'm glad she got to go to this one. It's a much bigger VBS and she had a great time. She's with Maddie and Carter here.

And we squeezed in some pool time with Christopher. We're going to start having him more during the summer. It just happened that he and Joshua have matching swim trunks.

Summer Serve....

I just dropped Jake off on his first mission trip....a 3 night Summer Serve event for middle school kids that is based out of our church this year. There will be about 100 middle school kids working and playing. They will go to various sites around the city and do service projects...and have a lot of fun along the way!! I helped Jake get set up in the choir room....right next to Pastor Mark...and then said my goodbyes. Can't wait to hear the report on Sunday!!

Beach Time....

We took a quick trip to the beach right after school got out. Port A was the prettiest I've seen it in years. No seaweed, clear water, very little wind...just so pretty! The kids had a blast!!! Mom came down and spent one night with us. Lots of beach time for these kids!!!

Not a bad view!!!

Cheryl and her kids came down for a quick trip too. We overlapped one day, so they spent an afternoon with us.

Jake and Finola tried and tried and tried to catch minnows!!!

The beach is always so much fun. We can't wait to go back again!!!

Waffle Warriors....

Sophia finished her first season of volleyball. They didn't have the best record, but they learned a lot and won their last game....always good to end the season with a win!!!

Silly First Graders....

Joshua loved his teacher this year, Mrs. Moeller. She was so good with the kids. Not only was she a great teacher, but she really loves kids and takes the time to get down on their level!

Tournament Time....

Six boys from the soccer team entered a 3 on 3 tournament....and today was the day!! 4 games in 5 hrs. It was a long day on the fields!!!

Joshua and I headed out early!

After 2 games it was time for lunch!!!

Thundering Herd came in 3rd place and earned a medal. Not bad for their first tournament. It was a long day!!! 4 games is a lot for little players. We were proud of how hard they played!

Joshua with his medal and shirt...after a long day!! Time to head home and rest!!! No soccer until August!

Last Week of School.....

There was so much fun packed into the last days of 1st, 3rd and 5th grade. The last time all 3 kids will be at the same school. :(

I had lunch with all 3 kids...and they get to have a friend sit with them.
Joshua and Landon

Sophia and Rylie

Jake and Michael

Fifth grade awards was on Wednesday. Jake got 4 awards!!! Outstanding Attendance, A/B Honor Roll Strings and the 5th Grade Certificate.

His teacher this year, Mrs. Hildebrand has been amazing!

Here it is...the last day of school. See the Garner cup on the table. We're about to have a 6th grader in the house!

5th Grade Talent Show is a B-I-G deal. Jake was in a skit with 4 other boys doing a lip sync contest. Jake was dressed as Taylor Swift.

After the show....they did a great job!!!

It's an annual tradition at Northwood for the last 15 min of the last day to line the hallways and have the 5th graders walk through. Everyone claps and cheers...

Here they come!!!

 Here's Jake...with a few tears!

And outside afterwards for popsicles. Time to say goodbye to Northwood!

Afterschool we headed to the park to meet with friends for some sno-cone fun!

We now have a 2nd, 4th and 6th grader!!! Two schools next year. Can't wait to see what the next school year holds in store. This has been such a great year for all 3 kids. It's hard to leave good teachers behind!!!
