Quarentine Week One...

Wow...how times have changed. After one week of extended Spring Break...schools are now closed through April 27th Now all of us a sudden we have new words like 'social distancing' and 'stay home stay safe'. Toilet paper is hard to come by. People are wearing masks. Kids have switched to "distance learning" and my business has tanked. AND...throughtout all of this...we are stuck inside together and trying to keep a somewhat happy attitude.

Someone asked me to make a few masks for their family. So of course I wanted to add a monogram!

HEB...where did all the paper products go???

And they have such official signs to make sure people stay apart.

How many puzzles will we complete by the time this is all over???

HEB at 8:30am....felt like I won the lottery when I got toilet paper, paper towels and eggs!! And then had to wait in line until the registers were fixed!!

Social distancing on our bike ride!!

Some of the bikers were not totally happy!!

Our new normal for the mornings....

All of this is during week 1!!! And we're not sure how many more weeks to go??? Atleast 4 more weeks of distance learning. Hoping that the 'stay home stay safe' order gets lifted in a week or so. This is such a weird, scary, sad and frustrating time. We're trying to get through it one day at a time (without tears!!).

Spring Break 2020

We decided to try skiing again!!! We were so excited to head to Taos for the week. They had tons of snow!We spent 2 nights in Sante Fe. We rented this cute little casista that was a few blocks from the square.

Mary said we had to go to Meow Wolf....which is hard to explain!! Part haunted house, part art museum, part mystery, part crazy light show. Very cool place with secret passages and tons to look at!!!

Then we headed to Taos for 4 nights. There wasn't a ton of snow down where we were staying, but lots of snow on the mountain!!

Day one---Mike took a snow boarding lesson. The kids and I hit the slopes.

After day one...hot chocolate was a must!!

Look at the scenery!!! This was on the way to dinner at John and Lisbeth Anne's house. So beautiful!

Overall it was such a fun trip. We had a blast with friends. Joshua and Jake both loved skiing. Sophia didn't ski as much as the last trip. And Mike had some success on skis on the last day. We spent more time "up on the mountain" skiing runs we had not been on before. It was a lot more fun being with friends that push you to try new things.

Little did we know that the coronovirus would take over our lives as soon as we got home!!

Happy Birthday LA!!!

John planned a huge beach bash for Lisbeth Anne's 50th birthday. He went all out with lots of food, the Sand Castle Man, a catered meal, lots of drinks...and TONS of laughs. We were so thankful for the beautiful weather on Saturday. There were about 25 people there and we had a blast. Took a couple days for us all to recover from all the fun!!!

Happy 14th!!!

Happy Happy Birthday Sophia!!! How has time flown by and all of a sudden you are 14???
It was a pretty low key birthday We went out to dinner with Grammy, Gramma and Bill. The only celebration you wanted with friends was to take Avery to the rodeo.

We are so proud of the young lady you are becoming. You are so responsible, helpful and kind...with some teenage sass added in!! We can't wait to see what this year holds for you!!

8th Grade Field Trip...

I went with the 8th graders to the Holocaust Museum. I had never been there before and it had so much information. And, we were lucky enough to hear a Holocaust survivor speak about her experiences. The group that went the following day didn't get to hear her. It was an amazing story!!
