  Beginning on 4th, 6th and 8th....

Last day of 4th, 6th and 8th. Plus our new addition!

This coming year will be our only year of 3 kids at 3 schools!!! Our last year at Northwood and first year at Mac. Time flies!!!!

Wrapping up the school year....

Joshua's end of year party happened to fall on his teacher's 50th birthday. We had lots of fun celebrating her (and the end of school). Jake and Joshua have both had Diane Taylor for 4th grade...and she is wonderful!

Sophia performed in the piano recital. She had stopped lessons for a couple years, but wanted to start back up after she started in Band. And she has loved it!!! Carla Lockett is such a fun and talented teacher.

And at 6th grade awards, Sophia got A/B honor roll!! We are proud of how hard she has worked this first year in middle school!!!

AVID awards....

Jake finished his last year in AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination). It's been a great "home" for him at Garner. So thankful to his teacher, Ms. Rocheleau, for all the amazing stuff and hard work she puts into the program. And thankful for her unending patience!!! They focus on college prep skills, have college tutors in twice a week, keep a close eye on grades and organization and manage to have lots of fun!!!

At the awards, the 8th graders do a "before AVID" and "after AVID" poster. It's a cute little video they do....love the serious face to the happy face.

A new addition.....

It took awhile...but we finally made the decision to get a new puppy. He is beyond adorable. We picked Ranger up over Memorial Day weekend. He was just 7 weeks old!!!

He has quickly gotten bigger....he LOVES to eat. Sleeping has gotten a tiny bit better...but the puppy nights are so hard. Ugh!!! House breaking is going pretty well. It helps to have the kids old enough where they can help too. He is just so cute and we are all having fun with him....except at 3:00am. That is no fun.

Athletics Awards....

The end of the school year is filled with awards ceremonies. Jake was excited to go to the 8th grade sports awards. Of course he was THE last boy called....darn than W last name.

He played football, basketball and golf both 7th and 8th grade years. He has loved being a part of the teams and learned so much. We are thankful for the coaches that push them to be the best they can be!

End of Year Band Concert....

Well....I did not get any pics from the actual concert. But it was a great performance and really showed how much they have grown throughout the year. AND....Sophia was awarded "Outstanding Clarinet Player" in Beginning Band. We are so proud!!! She has worked and practices so hard this year and really enjoys playing.

**New news---she made it into Symphonic Band for next year!!! This is the highest band class and not a lot of 7th graders make it!! She earned 4th chair in the band. Way to go Sophia!!!!

Confirmation!

Jake made it through 2 years of confirmation and was officially confirmed on May 20th. Lots of hard work and time put into getting here. We are so proud of him. He was the only boy with 7 girls in the class this year!

They had cake and gave certificates out during the Sunday School hour.

And confirmation was during the 11:00 service. His confirmation verse is Psalm 46:1  "God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble."

After church we came home to have lunch with family. Pastor Mark and Laura were able to stop by for a bit.
God has big plans for Jake....and we can't wait to see how the future unfolds. :)
