12 Years Old...

We went from this sleeping angel to a grownup smart, responsible tween. Where did time go? This year has brought middle school, 5 inches of growth and lots of fun. I miss the tiny baby stage, but having a big kid is pretty fun too. Can't wait to find out what this year holds in store.
We love you Sophia!

Playing hooky....

Rylie is a big fan of a new singer....14 years old and plays the ukelele. She is on tour and was coming to Houston. Even though we really had no idea who she was, Brenda convinced me to get tickets. Sophia got an early birthday present to miss school for a day and a half! :) And we headed to Houston to see Grace Vanderwaal.

We had a delicious dinner before we headed to the concert.

It was general admission...and the line was long waiting for the doors to open.  Lots of young girls and parents waiting to get in the front row!!

It was a big empty warehouse and only 300 tickets were sold. But it felt packed. It was a good concert and so hard to believe this girl is only 14 years old!!!

12th Birthday Party

Sophia really wanted to ice skate for her birthday. She invited friends and we met at the ice rink.
Most of the girls loved it (one did not). Jake skated too! They quickly got some blisters, but powered through and had fun. Sophia is ready to go back!

Then the girls came back to our house for pizza, cake and presents. Lots of tween girl giggles and fun to help celebrate our (almost) 12 year old.

Future Baker????

Sophia loves to bake. She is always up for a new cake idea. Sometimes they are a bit hard to pull off!!! She wanted to make a unicorn cake for Emmy's 5th birthday. It came out so cute! And Emmy loved it!!!

The first Cotillion....

Garner had a pretty big group go to Cotillion this year....about 30 kids. It was a western theme. So much fun to see the kids all dressed up. Most of these kids have been together since Kindergarten. It's such a good group of sweet kids. So thankful that Jake has this group of kids to go through school with.

6th Grade Band....

Sophia started band this year....she is playing the clarinet (which she has never played before!!) and loving it. She has made SO much progress. She even started back with piano lessons because she is enjoying music so much right now.
