Spring Break 2018!

We went big for Spring Break this year and headed to Taos, New Mexico with friends for a week of skiing.  Our first night was in Santa Fe. Such a neat city with lots to look at!!!

This was a (very) old church with a one of a kind spiral staircase. The stained glass was amazing.

Driving to Taos was beautiful. The mountains are SO different from anything we see in Texas.
The first evening we were at our house, some BIG mule deer came by. They came so close to the house!!

Monday was the first day to ski. Mike and I did a 1/2 day of lessons. The kids did a full day. Everyone was all smiles, but a little tired!!!

There were 5 families from the neighborhood that were in Taos at the same time. We got together twice for dinner at the Dunlaps. So much fun with friends!!

The last day we were there, it snowed a lot! Sophia and I were skiing together up higher on the mountain. It was so fun to be skiing when it was actually snowing!!

We stayed in the cutest cabin up in the mountains. It was the perfect size and had incredible views!!!

Overall we had a great trip. Mike was so-so on skiing, but the rest of us loved it. We had one rough day (almost sliding off the mountain, ski patrol taking Mike and Joshua down (not hurt, just tired) and Sophia being "missing" for awhile (but was totally fine). So many fun memories.

4th Grade Field Trip....

For the 3rd time....I went with 4th grade on the big Austin field trip! Unlike the other 2 trips, there were not any crazy surprises or issues to deal with! 3rd times a charm! They start out with a tour of the Capital and Visitor's Center. After a picnic lunch on the grounds, they go to the Bob Bullock Museum. It's a pretty fun (and long) trip!!!

Let's Rodeo....

We went to the Rodeo on Sophia's birthday. The kids love the rodeo part, but never want to stay for the concert. The enjoy all the animals!!

4th Grade....

For the second year in a row, Joshua has had a teacher named Mrs. Taylor. :) Different teachers, same last name!
Joshua was lucky enough to get the same 4th grade teacher that Jake had 4 years ago. I know that he is in good hands!!!
