We just got back from the 4th Annual Cousin Camp!!! Mary and I are always exhausted afterwards, but the kids have so much fun and make so many memories. It's worth it!!!
Camp got started off with a scorpion sting. Poor Joshua was carrying firewood. He dropped his log quickly and started crying. I thought he got scratched, until Mary saw the scorpion crawling away! We got revenge on it though. And Joshua was a pretty good patient.
The annual picture. This year we got smart and did the picture first thing (instead of waiting until the end when everyone was tired!!!). The kids helped make the sign...see thier handprints??).
Silly picture....
Roasting marshmallows the first night. H-U-G-E marshmallows made for some extra yummy smores!!!
Friday morning we dropped Lucy at school and headed to Cameron Park. We went up Jacob's Ladder (should be called Jacob's Stairs!!)...a very steep and long staircase.
Then we headed on a hike....made it 1 mile!
Picnic and splash pad after the hike....
And then to the movies to see Madagascar 3.
Saturday morning we headed to the lake. Good fun!!!
A creek stomp after nap time....we found "the bathtub" and the kids loved jumping in. We also caught lots of little frogs as we walked down the creek.
Then....our first every Cousin Camp Olympic Games....sack race, egg toss, fill the bucket, beanbag toss, roll the ball and shaving cream/cheese it throwing.
The boys loved the shaving cream/cheese it game. One partner had thier chest covered in shaving cream. The other partner had 1 min to throw as many cheese its as they could and see how many could stick!
Scavenger hunt was the last activity....there were 7 clues. Each clue had pieces to a puzzle so at the end of the hunt, each kid had to collect the pieces to thier puzzle and put the puzzle together to earn thier prize.
Always has a stick in his hand!!
Also managed to have a quick eagle sighting (but no picture), numerous fights and arguments but lots of laughing, good food and memories. The kids had such a good time. Can't wait for next year's camp...as soon as we have a good long year to rest up for it!!! :)
