First Day/Last Day

 The last day to walk a Wille kid to Northwood. Wonder how many times we've made this walk over the last 10 years?????

5th Grade Walkout..

 I love watching the 5th graders "walk out" for the last time. It's so bittersweet. There were a lot of tears this year...but not from Joshua. He was ready to be done. The other 2 loved Mrs. Hildebrand, but he was not a super big fan. It was a little bit of a hard year. But she pushed him hard, he did very well academically and has a group of friends he really likes....and some are headed to Garner too.

 Love this Mom pic!!! We had special shirts made for all the moms to wear on the last day. Most of these families have been at Northwood all 6 years. And it was the last year for a lot of us. I love our little WoodHood and have so many memories with a lot of these moms.

5th Grade Talent Show!!!

 Our last performer!! Joshua and his friends did a dance/kazoo routine to a Minecraft song. Joshua was a kazoo player.

 And then at the very end, all the 5th graders get up on stage to dance. Joshua is on the far left!! He was jamming!!! It's so fun to see them up there...and hard to believe that Northwood is over for us!

 After the final dance, they all came down the ramp. I had a seat right beside it so I could get good pics!!

Awards Time!

 The end of the school year always means award ceremonies! Joshua got the Presidential Academic Achievement Award....though we're not totally sure what that means! :) He's our last Northwood Unicorn!! 10 years at the little school and we are finally done!

Sophia got an award for Band and Perfect Attendance (even though she was absent a day or two....ooops!!!).

Piano Recital....

 Sophia continued with piano lessons this year. It was a lot to juggle athletics, band and piano at the same time...but she loves to work with Mrs. Lockett. She played so well at the end of year recital!

Memorial Day Fun....

 We usually go to the ranch for Memorial Day weekend...but this year we headed south to spend the weekend with the Dunlaps at their new beach house. Sophia and Lisbeth Anne left on Thursday for some girl time. Sophia was so happy to escape with no boys!!! They had a great time and rented surf boards because the waves were so big!!!

 Joshua had a friend staying close by so he went and stayed one night with him!

 

We had lots of beach time and sand building! 

 

And lots of time doing this.....  

 And of course we went ghost crabbing!!! And we caught a bucketful!!

We had such a good time with them. Their house is made for lots of people and there was lots of room for food and fun!! Sad we didn't get more pictures!!!

NJHS

Sophia was accepted into NJHS this Spring and the ceremony was so nice. It was a smaller group of kids this year. But we are very proud of her and how well she is doing at Garner. Hard work pays off!!
